The Surya College of Education, Gading Serpong, Indonesia, and The World Physics Olympiad International Board announce the "Physics Cup - World Physics Olympiad(WoPhO) Selection Round III", from **February 1 ^{st}, 2013 to July 31^{st}, 2013.**

Every high school student or equivalent to **grade 12** from any country can participate in the WoPhO Selection Round. The participants must be **under 20 years old** and they have not started their university studies at **June 30 ^{th}, 2013.** The participants must register by ﬁlling in the registration form at WoPhO registeration form. When registering each participant must use his/her own name exactly as in his/her passport.

The competition is for individuals, solutions sent by group of students are not accepted.

All participants must solve the problems individually. The problems will be in English and can be downloaded from the problem section of the WoPhO Selection Round webpage.

The Physics Cup - WoPhO Selection Round III consist of** two parts**. The first part consist of **five problems that will be posted on February 1 ^{st}, 2013**. The

**first deadline**for submitting the solutions for these problems is

**April 3rd, 2013**. A maximum of 10 points will be given for the right solution of each problem submitted by this date. Afterwards there will be a

**penalty of 10%**of the total final points of each solution submitted for

**every late month**. So submitting a solution by

**April 30th, 2013**will result in

**10%**penalty, by

**May 31st, 2013**

**20%**, by

**June 30th, 2013**

**30%**and by

**July 31st, 2013**

**40%**.

The problems may have some unclear points or misprints, therefore the participants are encouraged to visit the webpage of the contest from time to time where the corrections and/or modiﬁcations will be posted.

The second part is **Physics Cup **where a new problem will be uploaded every** first Sunday of the month at** **14:00 GMT +0,**** starting from the month of March, 2013****. **In the Physics Cup, the **first 10 solutions **will receive a multiplying bonus of **(1.1) ^{n} **, with n =10,9,8,..,1 to the final points providing they are not zero. If one solution receives zero point, we will move the next solution up the bonus ladder. Afterward these 10 solutions, the rest of the solutions will receive no bonus. The solutions must be received before the next physics cup problem uploaded at the website.

Participants must submit the solutions by logging in to the WoPhO website using their **username and password starting from the ﬁrst day of the selection round**. In case of technical diﬃculties please email us at wopho.selection@stkipsurya.ac.id. Each solution to the problems must be submitted in a separate pdf, or word ﬁle. The solutions must be in English.

Any kind of reference materials may be consulted; textbooks and articles of journals can be cited.

If you use a computer program to solve any problem, then the code of the program must be attached to the solutions and accompanied by adetailed descriptions(*i.e.* the computer language used, instructions to use the program, parameters and notations used, and how to interpret the output ﬁgures and graphs, etc.).

The solutions will be graded by the "Physics Cup - WoPhO Selection Round" juries. The result will be announced after **August 1 ^{st}, 2013**.

The winners of the Physics Cup - WoPhO Selection Round III will be invited to participate in the WoPhO Final Round **December 28, 2013 — January 3, 2014**.
